Hi-Performance

All the engines not only meet Euro 5 standards, but can also be optionally specified to meet the stringent requirements of the EEV (Enhanced Environmentally-Friendly Vehicles) voluntary environmental standard.

The New Trakker's engines are available in displacements of 8 and 13 litres, covering a power range of 360 to 500HP. Frugal, lightweight and extremely powerful, they allow higher rated loads with engines of smaller displacement.
Maximum torque is on tap from very low engine speeds and for a very wide operating range.

All the Cursor engines (except for the 410HP version) are equipped with the Iveco Turbo Brake decompression engine braking system, which is fully integrated with the main and auxiliary (Intarder) braking systems, thereby combining maximum safety with low running costs.

 

Cursor 8

Power 360 HP

The Cursor 8 is a 7,790 cc, in-line six-cylinder engine with variable-geometry turbo (VGT) and power rating of 360HP.

The turbo system makes a major contribution to the performance of the engines, and offers strong acceleration, fluid power delivery and high power.
It also enhances driving comfort by eliminating turbo lag, because the engine always responds immediately to inputs from the accelerator.

By means of an electronic control system, the variable-geometry turbo adapts the geometry of the turbo to the engine speed: thanks to a system of coaxial rotor movement, the turbo adapts to the incoming volume of exhaust gas, thereby optimising control of turbo pressure.

The Cursor 8 360HP engine delivers peak torque of 1,500 Nm from 1,125 rpm and keeps it constant up to 1,685 rpm.

 

 

Cursor 13

Power ratings from 410 to 500 HP

The Cursor 13 is a 12,880 cc, in-line six-cylinder engine available with three power ratings:

410HP with fixed-geometry turbo and waste-gate
450 and 500HP with variable-geometry turbo (VGT).

The Cursor 13 500HP engine delivers peak torque of 2,300Nm from 1,000 rpm and keeps it constant up to 1,525 rpm.

The Cursor 13 410HP engine is equipped with Iveco's Combined Engine Brake.

CEB: Double-acting engine brake

The CEB – Combined Engine Brake is an uprated engine brake which combines two effects: decompression and braking torque. By means of a butterfly valve on the exhaust manifold, it generates sufficient exhaust gas counterpressure to slow the rotation of the engine and increase the braking force.

Waste-gate: more torque, lower fuel consumption, high reliability
The design of the waste-gate turbo allows high boost at low engine speeds, thereby optimising torque and fuel consumption. Once maximum turbo pressure (corresponding to high engine speeds) is reached, however, the engine and turbo must be mechanically protected.
This task is performed by the waste-gate system, which limits the pressure on the turbo and keeps it constant, by allowing the gradual egress of gases directly to the exhaust manifold in certain conditions.
